Our STEM Summer Schools
STEM in the summer
If you have a budding scientist, technologist, engineer or mathematician, they might be interested in PenKemp Technologies’ STEM Summer School. These annual, week-long events run during the month of August, and are usually based in the regions of Teesside and North Yorkshire.
Young people joining the STEM Summer School can expect to take part in a wide range of activities where STEM concepts are explored in real-life contexts. This is education, but not as you may know it — while students learn a lot from our Summer Schools, they do so in an immersive, hands-on and engaging way.
PenKemp’s STEM Summer Schools are usually based around a week-long STEM task. Can you build a functioning, remote-controlled ‘Moon Buggy’? Could you create an earthquake-proof building? How about an aquatic robot capable of exploring the depths of the ocean?
The STEM Summer School usually runs between the hours of 9:00 and 16:00, and budding engineers need to bring their own lunch (although snacks and drinks are provided throughout the day).
